When it comes to family memories, vacations have always been top of the list for me. So it was extra special when I was able to take some family photos recently for a family visiting Southern California on their vacation. Moments like this truly are priceless.
Malibu Creek State Park Lifestyle Shoot
I absolutely love lifestyle shoots. It's where true creativity is able to shine through. For this particular shoot, all we had in mind was a general location (Malibu Creek State Park) and an outfit. No props, no elaborate setups, not even a shot list ... But it really worked. We just walked around the paths and found amazing locations where we could be free to express our creativity!
Malibu Creek Maternity Shoot
My favorite thing about photography is being able to help people capture those special moments in life that they'll want to remember forever. This particular shoot came together in less than a week and is one of my favorite maternity shoots to date. We drove out to Malibu Creek State Park for sunset and had about 30 minutes of sunlight to capture these shots.
Oahu Family Shoot
I recently went to Oahu and couldn't leave without doing at least one photoshoot! Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Ko Olina, we spent an hour playing games and just enjoying the scenery. This is the best kind of family shoot in my opinion - showing genuine connection.

You don't always have to go to the most elaborate locations for a cute family photoshoot. I recently paid a home-visit to this beautiful family to take photos for this year's Christmas cards. We kept it simple and took these in the backyard and just up the street from their house.
Malibu Engagement Shoot
Nothing says "will you marry me?" like a frolic in the Pacific Ocean. A few weeks back I had the privilege of capturing this lovely newly engaged couple down in Malibu at the iconic El Matador Beach (one of the most popular engagement shoot locations in Los Angeles). Even though the sky didn't fully cooperate with us, the setting still made for some stunning photos.

I had the most fun shooting with the amazing Leigh Healey (@leighannhealey) all around Santa Monica earlier this Fall. Her zest for life and unapologetic authenticity made her the perfect subject for this quintessential Los Angeles photoshoot.
